Seán Rafferty

I would be Adam
leafless in the garden
with all my ribs about me
one day more.
For one more day
the Voice be off the air
a Heavenly silence
in which I find my feet
and flex my fingers
to grasp the Situation.

I doan like it.

To be creation's clown
a six day wonder
a ten toed bi-ped
with this bag of pebbles
that wobble when I walk.

He should have held his breath.
Five days was plenty.
Earth, sea, beasts, fowl, then feet up.

Make feathers fly and finish.

Peacocks.
Full stop.

Peacocks was really great.
